What would be a good health insurance for me

What would be a good health insurance for me?
I am considered part-time where I work and its 150$ a month for health insurance, compared to 70$ for full timers. My wife was going to add me to her plan, (we work at the same place, but she is full-time) But it will still come out to the same per month as it would be I I just got it. I only want the insurance for a year cause then if my wife add's me on next year, it will be like me being full-time. So I want a decent insurance with a decent prescription plan. I was looking into Highmark PPOBlue.

Health insurance on your own will be pricy. Believe it or not, work acutally pays a huge chunk of the monthy premiums. Health insurance converage cost has just gone out of control. On your own, you will probably be looking at anywhere from $400-600 a month for typical converage. If you take a high deductable you might be able to get one for about $150-200 a month.
2 :
The Blue Cross plan is an excellent idea, suggesting that you take a high deductible to lower your monthly premium. Many of your preventive care needs should be covered without having to meet the high deductible, and most Blue Cross plans cover prescriptions, office visits, and urgent care with a low co-payment.

Will my parents know if I start using our health insurance

Will my parents know if I start using our health insurance?
I'm about to start seeing a therapist. Will my parents know if I use our health insurance? I'm not really sure how this works.

It depends on how old you are i think. but yeah they will see it on your bills. just tell them your problems they love you and they'll be there for you.
2 :
most likely. the insurance company usually sends a bill sayig what they had paid for your parents
3 :
Yes. Insurance doesn't pay for everything. There are deductibles and coinsurance for specialists, and if it does they will still get some kind of statement or summary in the mail each time you go.
4 :
I don't know about them seeing it but seeing a therapist is nothing to be ashamed of - you are showing a very mature and Intelligent way of handling things - good luck - things will look better

Is it legal for employers to REQUIRE employees submit a health assessment to be eligible for health insurance

Is it legal for employers to REQUIRE employees submit a health assessment to be eligible for health insurance?
My employer is saying that if we do not complete an on-line health assessment we will no longer be eligible for health insurance benefits.
The healthassessment is done through our health insurance providers website; BUT, the health insurance provider does NOT require the assessment for coverage. Is this legal?
Insurance - 5 Answers

1 :
Yes, it is legal, but you cannot be charged extra premiums or denied the insurance based upon the assessment. from a FAQ put out by the Dept. of Labor, which helps enforce HIPPA: "Can a plan require an individual to complete a health care questionnaire in order to enroll? Yes, provided that the health information is not used to deny, restrict, or delay eligibility or benefits, or to determine individual premiums." For more info, here is a web site: http://www.dol.gov/ebsa/faqs/faq_hipaa_ND.html Or you can call the national or local office of the Employment Benefit Security Administration
2 :
Possibly, I dont know and Im not a Employee Benefits Attorney But...your employer is paying for the coverage, or the larger percentage of it anyway every month, so they may feel they have the right to know the status of your over all health. Id sit down with HR rep, or your manger and ask them why they require it when the insurance carrier does not. Tell them you feel its an invasion of your personal privacy.
3 :
I assume that if x% of employees fill out the assessment then the insurance premiums for everyone will be decreased. If you choose NOT to meet your company's standards for health insurance then you choose not to be a part of it.
4 :
~~This is going to fall under your state's labor laws. I would check their website as well as the state's insurance commissioner's website for the answers. If you can't find the answer, they will have contact numbers. Good luck~~
5 :
Absolutely legal... & its becoming more & more common. My employer does has the same requirements for the employee & spouse. Also, if the employee or spouse smoke, we have to pay a higher premium.

How do I get affordable health insurance for my son

How do I get affordable health insurance for my son?
I was in between jobs last year so I had to put my son on medicaid. As soon as I found a job I let them know but they kicked him off of it anyways.
The problem I am having is that my insurance at work don't kick in until November and he has to have insurance by then for doctors appointments, etc. I tried to get MC+ for kids but they make it almost impossible to get. I just was wondering if anyone knew of a place where I can get affordable health insurance for my son?

A lot will depend on where you live because different states have different programs for children. As long as your son is under the age of 18 then most states and even some counties will have some form of program that you will be able to look into. If you make too much money to qualify for a government program then your best bet is probably individual health insurance for your son. As long as he is relatively healthy then it should be no problem at all finding a cheap plan. Be sure that you shop around and compare quotes from at least 3-5 different reputable companies. Enlist the help of an independent health insurance agent or broker so that they can help you comparison shop.Try this site http://best-health-insurances-usa-quote.blogspot.com/ Here you can get quotes from different health insurance companies in your area, its the best way to find an affordable health insurance with a reliable company. Best Wishes,

First I would try to contact the state department again and ask for public assistance. explain to them the situation and that you are working on this. if they are of no help, i would go here http://www.insurekidsnow.gov/ it is a government program that helps you find healthcare for your child. as a last resort, if you cannot seem to find help anywhere i would go to your local public health department. they base your bill on how much you make and are great with payment plans. Before our Army insurance kicked in I got my sons shots for 20.00 total. I hope this helps!
3 :
Yes, go to www.BestHealthcareRates.com. There you will find all of the help you need to find the best and most affordable health insurance plan for your son. The site is very easy to use and understand, and is rated A+ by The Better Business Bureau...this is the BBB's highest of 14 ratings! There are many, very affordable health plan options for children offering good short term or long term coverage. Hope this helps you!
4 :
You have several options available: 1. Simply buy an individual health plan on him. At his age, assuming he's in good health, etc., you should be able to get a plan for less than $100/month (perhaps a lot less). Look for a plan with a higher deductible, like $2500+. This will lower the cost but still give you the benefits he's most likely to need, like a copay for doctor visits & generic drugs. Go to NAHU.org (see below) to find a local broker who specializes in health insurance or visit my website for a free quote (www.genesis-grp.com). 2. You could consider buying him a short-term/temporary medical plan. This would probably be even cheaper, but you would not get the doctor & drug copays mentioned above. 3. You might also visit www.insurekidsnow.gov to see what sort of gov't plans might be available. However, it's likely that he won't qualify before your own group coverage starts (sometimes the process itself takes weeks or even months to complete). A few additional thoughts or suggestions: 4. You may find that the individual plan is quite a bit less expensive even than putting him on your coverage at work. Most group plans assume you have "2.2 kids," so the person with 1 child to cover pays more than the person with 3 or 4 kids (hey, it's group insurance, which is "averaged"). Sure, the group plan will probably have somewhat better benefits (lower deductible, etc.), but take a few minutes to think if the extra premium is worth the extra benefits (how much health care is he going to need or use?). 5. You should consider getting at least the short-term medical coverage on yourself, "just in case." You are, I assume, the primary breadwinner for him - what if you needed some sort of catastrophic care? Get a plan with a big deductible (for you, I'd suggest $5,000); it's unlikely you'll use it, but isn't that the whole idea of any insurance plan - "just in case?" Hope this helps a bit - have a swell day!
5 :
It is only five months until your insurance kicks in. I think you can probably afford to pay for the doctor's appointments outright, and pay for almost the same amount as if you had premiums to pay each month. However, there are many insurance companies that offer child insurance policies that you can get for a fair price for a short time.

How to get birth control with no health insurance

How to get birth control with no health insurance?
I just lost my health insurance and the birth control pills I've been taking are very expensive without insurance. I know one option is to go to Planned Parenthood. Are there any other options?
Women's Health - 5 Answers

In most states, the local Health Department (here's yours, in Arizona http://www.azdhs.gov/) may offer birth control free of charge. Here in Oklahoma, even minors can go to the Health Department and get free birth control. Contact your local Health Department with this question. Your taxes support the Health Department, so their services are free.
2 :
I would encourage you to visit this fantastic website: www.healthsavings.ourperfectcard.com I signed up online over 5 years ago when I was in college and needed something affordable. They have saved me thousands of dollars on all of my health services. From Medical, Vision, Dental, Rx...etc. I believe they have a plan for only pennies on the dollar that will give you Rx benefits. Browse the website is the best thing I could tell you. They even had my very affordable benefits active in 2 hours and was able to use them the very same day. Good luck and Hope this helps
3 :
You can easily check your minimal health care rates in internet, for example here - healthplans.my-age.net
4 :
just search in the internet. you will be able to find the important points there.
5 :
I would check out the Planned Parenthood in your city, there may also be some other groups that offer birth control at discounted prices. You should also look online. There are a lot of websites that offer bulk medications at cheap rates. I would do some research before buying from these sellers, but often times your can get a really great deal. However, on a more serious note, you should be looking for a new health insurance plan as soon as possible in case you get sick or pregnant.

Only Wal-Mart can answer that question. But I would guess $000.00
2 :
In states that require them to provide something, they provide the bare minimum required by law. In states that do not require them to provide anything, they provide nothing.

How will filing bankruptcy affect my ability to get health insurance

How will filing bankruptcy affect my ability to get health insurance?
My financial situation is such that I may need to file bankruptcy. I am starting a new job and as it is a small company I may need to get health insurance on my own instead of through the company and the employer will reimburse me for a portion. I am wondering how filing Chapter 7 Bankruptcy will affect this, if at all. Any assistance would be VERY helpful. Thank you!

no there is a different criteria on policies like health and life
2 :
Filing bankruptcy wont affect your eligibility for health coverage. The only affect you might have is paying for it. Just hold off because when hillary gets elected(LMAOOOOOO) She will get it for you. of course you will have to pay for it. It will be a requirement for you to have a job and it will be a lot more expensive than the plan you are looking at now.
3 :
Chapter 7 is to liquidate any of your assets. Health insurance is totally unrelated to your assets on how much you have. Will you have enough money to pay for the insurance if you are liable to pay any outstanding debts? Your health history will play a big part on your eligibility to a health carrier. If you do not have lapse in your health coverage, you should not have problem getting coverage. If you do, it depends on what existing health issues you may have. You may want to find out by contacting an insurance agent or directly through the web site of any health care carriers.
