You have to buy it from a company licensed to insure you, in the state you are living. There's no national insurance - it's done on a state by state basis. Find a local agent at www.iiaa.org Buying online is a bad idea.

it depends what are your needs and health status. contact an independent agent and discuss. when you go online you can get quotes, but you may not know if the policy is better than another policy. there are a lot of companies out there that pretend to be insurance but are not. if you have no knowledge, could buy and get hit with some really high medical bills that you would expect the company to pay, but you would owe. good luck
