Health insurance

Health insurance?
If you apply for health insurance then what kind of medical test is required for men and women?
Insurance - 6 Answers

1 :
Basic Physical Exam.
2 :
Usually none. But they'll do a medical records bureau check to see what kind of bills you've submitted in the past - check it with the answers on your application. And if you lie about a pre-existing condition, they'll likely find it, deny your bills and cancel your policy.
3 :
None of my companies require any medical tests for health insurance. They go by your medical records and your current medical conditions. When you apply for coverage, you sign a release to that particular company to look at your medical records, including the MIB which tracks all your medical records on their database. Life insurance sometimes has a para-med exam, but not health insurance.

5 :
Many do not require a medical test. For those that do it is usually a 10 minute vitals/blood/urine test. You may want to try a website that compares multiple companies at once to get you the best price. I am paying less than ½ after I did. Once you are 21 see if you can get something for single mothers. Do not mention that you are living with your folks, say that you are renting a room. Or become an illegal alien. Good Luck
2 :
Look into Family Health Plus or at the very least Healthy New York. Depending on where in NY you live, there might be a branch of Maternal Infant Services Network (they'd be in the phone book) near you and they can help you with what you qualify for - all you need is a month's worth of pay stubs and a month's worth of bills to show your debt to income ratio for the most part.

How will the health insurance act reduce costs, and do the dc insiders really think they know

How will the health insurance act reduce costs, and do the dc insiders really think they know?
more about running a business than the business people do? Hence the charging off of billions to stem the coming hard hit to the bottom line?
Do you think your own health insurance plan will be impacted?

it won't lower cost, they knew that all along, just a great big lie to take more control over every ones lives
2 :
<< more about running a business than the business people do? >> Considering we just gave almost a trillion dollars to bail out these business people, I think my 2 year old son may know more than they do.
3 :
They know how to gain control over peoples lives. They do not care about the cost. Once you are under their thumb they will just cut you off from need services. Cost problem solved OH Yes and you, and everyone else we just take a pill and die in a hospice Like BO would have had for his grandmother!
4 :
It won't reduce costs. When does the government (corporate America) reduce costs for their products? Additionally, the DC insiders are also Corporate America. So it is a real "cluster".
5 :
Companies reduce costs when it makes them more money. The only way this happens is when they compete and their competitor reduces costs and takes their business away. Since the health reform doesn't do anything to increase competititon, and leaves the status quo of regional monopolies, their is no reason to believe costs will be lowered. Even if their is room to lower costs it won't happen, the incentive does not exist, especially when they have shareholders demanding more in profits. Regardless of what economic sector we're talking about, costs don't come down unless it means they'll make more profits.
6 :
By requiring everyone to get health care coverage, medical treatments won't go unpaid for as much anymore. This will reduce the rate at which health care facilities increase their prices in order to make up the lost revenue, which in turn will reduce the rate at which health insurance premiums grow as well. I don't believe health care reform will actually reduce costs, but it should keep them from growing quite as quickly as they have been. If business people really knew that much about running their businesses, the economy wouldn't collapse from time to time like it does. My own health insurance will likely see little impact since it is provided by my employer.
7 :
(College-educated man to the rescue!) ROFL... anyway.. I'll clue you in... insurance companies have this idea called "pool size", which is, the total number of people that are insured under any given policy.. the government is going to essentially create the biggest pool possible, which will reduce premiums for everyone in the respective insurance pools.. this is because the companies are receiving more in premiums, and most people don't receive more care than they pay out... as a result, everyone's premiums go down, because the cost of doing business and maintaining a profit becomes less for an insurance company. Hope that helps, although I doubt you'll be satisfied, being the suspicious conservative type :)
8 :
just this morning, cost increases were estimated to add about 1% to business cost. so, no money saved there. this to cover the expected cost of kids staying on mommy and daddy's insurance until age 26. what losers.
9 :
obamacare won't reduce anything!! it is a program to bankrupt all health insurances and put them out of business!! then where will you get heath insurance from??? or be fined if you don't have it??? for the real truth about obamacare please read=micheal connelly/obamacare...
10 :
The Health Care Law will not reduce costs, nor slow the rise of the increase of costs. After all that work, they failed in one of their primary goals when they started, and that was to slow the rise of the increase of costs for health services. I was recently talking with Sen. Jeff Bingaman (one of the six writers of the Health Care Law) about the Law that was passed, and he admitted that this was a weak point in the law. Yes, it forces everyone to get health care and thus expand coverage, and yes, it will force everyone into a government option, but the costs for health insurance and the costs of health services altogether will go up. The worst part is, the cost of living and the new costs to individual Americans are going to go up BIG time. From now on, every American is going to be having a harder time trying to make ends meet because of these new costs. The tax credits reimburse Americans for the expense, but you have to initially have the money to pay for health insurance out of pocket. And if you can't afford to pay out of pocket for health insurance, either for the government plan or your own plan, you will be penalized come April 15.

You cant't get insured if your pregnant (considered pre existing) however there are plans through your state that may be able to help you. If you go to a local pregnancy / womens clinic they should lead you in the right direction.

Is it Illegal to provide health insurance to one employee and not give any health insurance to the others?
We have 6 Ladies working in our office, and the Boss decided to give only the manager Health insurance after working here 5 years.

2 :
I would say it isn't illegal. They could use the excuse that your manager gets it because she is in a managerial position and you are not. Manager's perks. How infuriating.
3 :
uhh yeah thats pretty bad u should tell some1 about that.
4 :
The employer can have approved plans in such a way that only select employees are covered.
5 :
YES EVERY ONE NEEDS HEALTH insurance!!!
6 :
not really shes the manager
7 :
No, it isn't. Benefits are a part of your pay package. You are only paid what you can convince your employer that you are worth. If you think that you deserve a raise in the form of health insurance, go negotiate for it. You need to bring something to the table to back you up though. What are you doing for your employer that makes you worth an enormous raise like that? Whatever you do, don't try negotiation tactics like whining, saying it isn't fair, saying you need the health insurance, or saying that you deserve it. This isn't about you. It's about your value to your employer.
8 :
No it isn't illegal. If you felt that you were being discriminated against based on your race or religion you might have a case. Higher ranking people within a business having more perks/benefits is pretty normal thouhg.
9 :
Benefits are required to be administered evenly to all employees within the same class. The employer has the right to define the class. As an example, it could be all full-time employees, with Full-time being those who work greater than 32 hours per week. It could also be a certain class of employees, like managers. Whatever the employer defines the eligibility to be, it must be fairly administered across all members of that class. If not, they could be subject to fines from the Department of Labor.
10 :
Maybe. If they have a policy of giving insurance to people who have been here five years or more its okay. But if they just offer it to one person because they like her, it would be illegal.

What are the best health insurance options for independant business owners?
A dear friend is purchasing a Salon soon. She has covered all her financial bases and made smart choices so far. HEr main concern now is health insurance. She has always worked for a company that provided insurance, with an employee contribution. She and her husband are african american, about 45 yrs old, the husband smokes, she does not. What are the options out there that are affordable? Cobra will do for now, but as you know, full health insurance premiums are very high, what reccommendations do you have?

She needs to go to her local agent that writes the rest of her insurance, and ask them for an individual health insurance policy quote. That's the ONLY way for her to go!!

Health insurance for a person with a pre-existing condition in the state of Washington?

I think a lot of times if you get health insurance from your employer, as a large group, that they don't exclude pre-existing conditions. But for individual policies, I suspect all companies do. Otherwise the ones that don't would put the ones who do out of business.

How can low income people buy health insurance under the plan being voted on

How can low income people buy health insurance under the plan being voted on?
If we are to have mandatory health insurance, how will low income people pay for it? I'm already struggling with what little I have now. I can't afford to take on anymore. I know we can still go to our doctor of choice but, but again how will we pay for this insurance?? Also I have never had any sort of medical insurance just for the fact I can't afford any.
Insurance - 5 Answers

1 :
The intention is to provide federal subsidies of some sort to assist lower income people in purchasing health insurance. The details are not all worked out at this point, since the bill still needs approval in the Senate (which will undoubtedly challenge the House version.) Keep watching for the final result of the bill.
2 :
They are raising the income requirements for medicaid so you probably won't be taxed any more and you probably won't have to pay for your insurance either. If you develop a serious illness how would you pay for that? As it is now insurance companies can deny you insurance if your hair is too short. You are the people who would benefit the most. It's the ones who make over $500,000 who are gonna have to pay.
3 :
If you can't afford it then you probably already qualify for state assistance through Medicaid.
4 :
It doesn't go into effect for three more years, so you've got three years to find a better job!
5 :
Great question. Problem is no one knows the answer yet. Everyone is waiting for those details. That is why so many people are afraid of this health care bill. There are not enough details about it such as the important question that you asked.

How can u tell if health insurance benefits are pre taxed

How can u tell if health insurance benefits are pre taxed?
Keep in mind, your health insurance premiums can't be deducted if they're taken out of your paycheck as pre-tax dollars. However, after-tax health insurance premiums are deductible, but they still are subject to a limitation of 7.5% of your AGI. If you're self-employed, you may deduct a portion of your health insurance premiums as an adjustment.

Ask your employer. They will tell you. Actually they should provide a form for you to sign every year verifying your benefit selections and how you want to have your healthcare premiums treated. Nearly all healthcare insurance through a job are part of a Section 125 plan and are deducted pre-tax. You generally have the option to pay them with tax paid dollars but I'm at a loss to explain how that could be beneficial to anyone. Try this site, if you want to find the best or the cheapest health insurance just in one minute, http://cheap-health-insurance-usa.info/ Here you can get free quotes from different companies in your area, its the best way to find an affordable health insurance with a reliable company. What is the best health insurance in CA right now

What is the best health insurance in CA right now?
I need help. I don't have health insurance right now and I want to find an affordable one. I live in San Francisco, and I work part-time. I look at Athem insurance and it was around 60 bucks a month. I can't really afford that right now. Is there any other health insurance that is affordable and good?

It's free in Canada.
2 :
$60 per month is about as cheap as health insurance gets. I don't know how cheap you were expecting, but you will be EXTREMELY lucky to find anything cheaper and "good".
3 :
Yes, there is insurance that is good and meets the definition of "affordable", but costs more than $60 per month. No, there is not health insurance that is good and costs less than $60 per month, anywhere in the U.S... If you cannot afford $60 per month, then you cannot afford to leave in the Bay Area.
4 :
Hey Chris - You said you lived in San Francisco and that you worked part time? If $60 is a struggle perhaps you could try the "Healthy San Francisco" program (See link below.) You should also consider the great value of an HSA which you could read about at the blog noted below. Finally - i f you're under 26 perhaps your folks would be willing to put you back on their insurance per Health Care Reform legislation and you can read more about that at link noted below: http://www.healthysanfrancisco.org/visitors/ http://vitalityhealthinsurance.com/california-health-insurance-blog/

What the health insurance influences on

What the health insurance influences on?
I would like to know if a pregnant women can be treated in different ways depending on her health insurance. I can imagine that different health insurances can cover pregnancy in different way. For example with some health insurance the woman cannot get some services which she could get with another health insurance. Is that true? I also can imagine that different health insurances can have a different network of medical providers which could have different level of services and qualification of staff. Is that true?

Most health insurances will cover mostly anything to do with pregnancy. But some health insurances do have a primary care provider and they will have to suggest you to another doctor. Most doctors will do this because they actually care about their patients. I hope i helped.

Where can i find a good health insurance to pay for eye surgery

It depends on the surgery. If you're talking LASIK, NOBODY pays for it. Period.
2 :
My family and I have a health benefits plan that will pay for some of the surgery. I could give you the link if your interested. my email is cherylpooleburns@yahoo.com Just send me a message.
3 :
It really does depend on what surgery you are getting. Check out this site, it allows you to compare several different types/companies. http://www.ezwebquote.com/
4 :
I had lasik eye surgery done along with the Wave technology(3d pictures of your eye formation). I had excellent results. I saved over $1400 on the procedure using a discount benefits company. I also get discounts on dental and prescriptions and it is only 19.95 a month. LOVE it. http://www.mybenefitsplus.com/msmith
5 :
I have met this sort of situation before, here http://www.HealthInsuranceIdeas.info/free-online-health-insurance.htm is the resource I found helpful.
6 :
health-quotes.isgreat.org - here is my health insurance plan. As I remember they can provide such a service.
7 :
We have a great benefit plan that covers LASIK. It provides savings of 40% to 50% off the national average price on LASIK. The plan only costs $14.95 a month for an individual and you get Dental, Vision, Rx and Chiropractic benefits all together. We've saved thousands of dollars using the plan. I recommend it to everyone I know. You can research them here: http://www.HealthandDentalOptions.com
8 :
I don't know if you'll be able to get Health Insurance with a pre-existing condition but you can always try the National Eye Institute, which supports eye research, they dont help individuals pay for eye care, however, if you are in need of financial aid to assess or treat an eye problem, you might find one or more programs at their site below: http://www.nei.nih.gov/health/financialaid.asp Also, getting quoted is free so you have nothing to lose by shopping around, these http://moneysavecenter.com/health/ will compare 12 carriers filling out just the one form so I saves a lot of time. Hope you find something!

How to keep Health insurance from being cut because of low hours

How to keep Health insurance from being cut because of low hours?
My sister is 6 months pregnant and just found out from her work today that her health care insurance is going to be cancelled this week because she is not making enough hours for her to keep her coverage. Is there anyway around this? Or any suggestions? She is married but her husband cannot add her to his coverage until enrollment period which is after her due date. He also makes to much to have medicade.
Insurance - 6 Answers
Random Answers, Critics, Comments, Opinions :
1 :
Any way she can pick up extra hours for awhile? It's pretty common that part time employees aren't eligible for health benefits.
2 :
Since her losing the insurance is due to a drop in hours, this is a qualifying event which will enable her to be added to her husband's insurance before open enrollment. Since pregnancy cannot be counted as a pre-existing condition, she will have the insurance she needs for her pregnancy and delivery. Her husband should check with his HR to see how they coordinate this. Good luck!
3 :
Her husband should advise his HR rep that his wife is losing benefits due to a reduction in hours at her employer. That should be considered a "qualifying event" and allow her to be added without waiting for open enrollment. Otherwise, she should inquire with her current employer to confirm whether she will be COBRA eligible. But I'd go with the husband's coverage first...COBRA premiums are expensive! (You pay 100% of the total premium + an administrative fee.)
4 :
Yes, agreed...she'll qualify to be added to the husband's coverage, plus she may be eligible for COBRA as well.
5 :
You can't. You can't make them keep her on there, the insurance company won't allow it. She's going to have to take COBRA coverage with her current employer - although I strongly suggest that her husband COULD add her - her losing coverage through her employer should be a qualifying event, to get around the open enrollment issue.

l have to be a little general here because rules differ by state but; Cobra is an option, but it is expensive & only good for 18 months. His last employer might permit him to buy into the group plan. It will cost him, but it is almost always cheaper then any other plan. If he has a retirement plan, does it offer health care? Can he join his spouse's plan? Can he be covered by YOUR plan as a family member? My plan permits it at a premium price but my wife's plan only permits it for minors. Does he have a preexisting condition?? If yes, check with his old insurer, some states require them to help you find a new plan if you are dropped from an existing plan, BUT, it doesn't mean it will be a better ;plan or a cheaper plan. Call them anyway, perhaps they have ideas? Try AARPl Association of retired people. l know they have plans though l don't know much about it. Contact a health insurance company & ask for ideas. l routinely do this at work. Most places are happy to answers question as it is good business. Hope this gives you some ideas.

What do you pay in health insurance premiums per year

What do you pay in health insurance premiums per year?
If you work full-time, how much of the cost is paid by your employer? Are family members covered in your health insurance policy? And, are you experiencing yearly increases of health insurance with less benefits. Is the cost of health insurance affecting your personal budget or standard of living? Anything else you might like to add would be appreciated.

it said it will go up 5% this year, for the country I have 80% covered by employer. In december it will go up because it hasn't in two years.I will pay it because w/o it it is a disaster the budget would be real bad without it if got hurt,or a loved one edit:I do have family on it I added some things to your question....I saw two people working for the same company and they are married and they have separated policies and the separate policies same them money by separating it instead of joint?,that is something else

My health insurance and Dental Insurance is deducted from my paycheck every 2 weeks. For health it's $85 dollars and some change, as for Dental it's $37 dollars and some change(too lazy to dig thru check stub for exact amount)....By the way the prices above is for Me and my husband. Yeah, I have problem with my benefits. Every year it always changes, I mean first it's $25 office co-pay, then there's $20 office co-pay, then it's $20 co-pay but switch back to HMO health. What the heck! I really wish my employer will make up there minds and stay with one company, you know? Price wise, it's about the same. As for coverage, my plan has always been 85-95% coverage, $500 ded, 12 office visit a year, and etc.. Overall, even though it's a pain checking to see if my current doctor is in the network or worrying if I have to look for a new doctor or whatnot whenever my company switch insurance on us.....Just the feeling of being insured is worth every penny.
3 :
I am from Australia and I do not have to pay anything. We have medicare card where the government covers almost everything for us. This is for normal medical checkups and some medications where we can claim. I think the maximum we pay would be 30 dollars for medication. And medical checkup is free. However , people join private health insurance to have more benefit such as cheaper surgery and treatment for more severe illness that costs a lot more money. The Government just issued a new plan where general dental checkup is covered as well ( teeth checking, cleaning excluding cosmetic dental works) . So I pay less than about 100 bucks a year for my medical checkup and everything else medical related. Some of my friends are foreign students , they only pay maximum of 400 dollars per year for medibank private , where their medical checkups can also be claimed back , and get paid back for every dollar after the first 30 bucks spend on medication. And in case of surgery and emergency , their health insurance covers half of expense. Obese , Smokers , and those that are sick due to their chosen lifestyles are currently greatly helped by the government as well. They have a lot of benefits. However, this , I think, is about to change since the Australian Medical Association is calling for the government to erase some of the benefits these people have, because they are putting a great strain on hospitals ( use of bed , cost of surgeries - they recover much harder due to smoking , and use a lot of aneathesia in case of obese patients ) , instead putting " healthy" patients in priority. However, the Liberal government was trying to let this health matter controlled by private health companies but australians opposed it. Thanks Neptune and Uranus, the new government prevailed ( The Labor ) and this suggestion certainly was thrown into the bin where it belongs.
4 :
I now pay $3500.00 a year on my own, but I'm high risk because I have an unusual illness with a history of surgery. When I bought a medical insurance package for my business, I was surprised to discover that I would have to find a high risk carrier for myself. Everyone who worked in my business was covered except for myself. My premiums increase about 12% every year. I don't gripe too much because I know medical costs are out of this world. My husband does contracting for a business which has group coverage, and the part he pays for me is about $150.00 a month, so $1800.00 a year. Having both is what works out best for me because they overlap. We just received a notice this week that they will increase $25.00 a month. From time to time, there will be a struggle with both insurance companies over who is going to pay what. Last year, they bickered back and forth for about ten months. I finally contacted my state's attorney general insurance investigators to take care of the matter. It was amazing how fast the medical bills got paid after that. I'm growing concerned over what's in the future for my family. My husband recently developed a new problem related to his time in military service. He is a Vietnam veteran. He was shocked to find that Bush has cut medical benefits to any veteran who has not been using them. My husband hired an attorney to get those benefits reinstated, and that has not happened yet. My son's employer provides no benefits whatsoever, and I don't like that, but I try to not be a meddling mother. I've discussed having him placed back on my business coverage (he was dropped when he turned 21). It's not affecting our budget greatly yet, but I'm worried about what retirement is going to be like with our economy and the extreme increase in costs.
5 :
right now my hubby is in military so we are covered (family) and i think we pay 20% or something but when he gets back it will be like $300 month for same insurance and he will still be in the military just not in a war zone. if he got insurance through his civilian job it was like $500 month and I don't remember how much they covered cos we didn't keep it long before he had to be deployed. Oh man health insurance is way up and anyone who says different is in a dream world! Yes it's affecting everything because families need health insurance and it's as much as a freaking car payment is!

I am in Canada:-) Healthcare is freebut then taxes are very hight.Almost half your salary for most people. But medications do not have a fixed "fee". If you are self-employed you are not covered. Some people (am thinking of diabetics) spend thousand of $$ just on insulin alone. To recover some of the cost, comes tax time, you have to prove that you spent more that 3% of your earnings..OK..maybe am wrong here; could be more. Medication cost covered(up to 80%) is fully at the discretion of some companies. Some are generous and some are very stingy and some offer nothing at all. It is a complicated system. And no Canadian healthcare is not the best in the world. Ranks at about 30 in industrialised countries. A lot of people cannot find a family doctor. Myself : I use a walk-in clinic and they have since become kind of family doctors.

What kind of health insurance does a business provide to its employees

What kind of health insurance does a business provide to its employees?
Describe the measures they take in hopes to contain the cost of health insurance.

This question is really way to vague to answer. Each company has its own way of determining whether they will offer insurance and the plan they offer. There are too many variables to answer this question with specificity.
2 :
the best would be the the employer-employee insurance, under the group insurance category
3 :
by shifting more and more of the cost onto the employee. high deductible plans now the rage (HSA) in hope that employees will be smarter consumers. Just another futile attempt to preserve the current system, on the path to single payor
4 :
It really depends. Most businesses want to keep their costs to a minimum, so they look for the least expensive plan - unless employees are to contribute to a more costly one.
5 :
Most large companies offer a group comprehensive (HMO)plan, whereby an insurer charges them a discounted rate for a bulk number of employees. The smaller biz pays much higher due to the fact of being denied a large group discount. Deductibles and Co-pays may be increased to offset the insurer's cost and ultimately the employer's cost. The last thing both of them want is an employee running to the doctor, to get 7 MRI's per month for a pesky hang nail. Therefore more costs are placed on the employee. They also may pay an employee a lower salary or wage to account for the cost of insuring that new employee. If an employee could make $50K per year, the employer might only offer to pay this individual $42K gross.
6 :
They market out the benefits every year. That's it. Some business don't provide ANY health insurance for employees. Some provide access, but the employee pays the cost. Most share the cost of a group policy with an employee, and only government workers or NEA members (aka, public workers) get full health insurance paid by taxpayers.
7 :
There are several ways to keep the cost down but here are a couple. Statistics show that only 25-30% of insured americans meet their deductible in a calender year. So businesses could choose a plan with the highest deductible possible to keep the premium down and then reimburse it's employees (theoretically 30% of them) for incurred medical expenses, to whatever dollar amount they wish. This is called an HRA. Secondly, if the group is fairly young (average age less than 40) they can self fund their prescription coverage through a third party. The premiums charged for prescription drugs are a HUGE moneymaker for health companies (Blue Cross). If you self fund, the employer only pays for prescriptions that are used by the employees not a monthly premium rate from the insurance carrier. In the last 2 years here in Michigan, group health rates have increased up to 20% each year (differs from group to group). We use the reimbursement concept with all of our groups (about 50) and the self funded prescriptions with about 15 to keep that annual increase to about 6-8%. Hope this helps
8 :
Scott has the right idea. Buy plans that have high deductibles, but still have office and RX co-pay benefits (first dollar coverage - no deductible). The employer then sometimes agrees to reimburse part of the employee's deductible if they ever use it. That is the HRA - Health Reimbursement Arrangement. I also like to offer dual choice plans. Have the employer sponsor (pay 50 to 100% of the employee's premium) for a lower cost plan, but offer a richer plan that if the employee wants better coverage, they can "put their money where their mouth is" and buy a richer, more expensive plan.

What health insurance does American Expats living in the Philippines have

What health insurance does American Expats living in the Philippines have?
I know that it is important to have health insurance when living in a different country, unless you have the cash to pay up front for medical expenses. So my question, is for those American Expats already living in the Philippines ... What type of medical insurance do you have? A little bit of information about their coverage would also be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance for any replies.

can regular health insurance be used for health-related dental work

can regular health insurance be used for health-related dental work?
I have not only very unhealthy teeth, but an undersized lower jaw. Both of which is causing quite a bit of health problems (from digestive difficulties to sleep apnia).
With this being not merely dental, can my health insurance be used to fund some way of fixing this problem?

as far as i know , the general health insurance covers for only trauma related dental problems and not for surgerys for cosmetic reasons and other treatments ... any way get best advise from your insurance agent..
2 :
For a start get a bottle of HYDROGEN PEROXIDE and start brushing and mouth washing daily with it. It kills pain and heals oral problems. My dentist recommended this to me many years ago (I have mediocure teeth also) But the gums hold the teeth in, so when you get healthy gums your teeth are enormously better. You need to see an Orthodontist for the undersized lower jaw. My son had the same problem and was in Orthodonture 6 years to enlarge the bottom jaw. Of course your age may determine whether this can be solved now. He was 10-16 during his braces. You might need a couple of teeth pulled to allow space. It might be wise to buy some dental insurance that includes orthodonture coverage. To prepare for getting braces. For digestive difficulties, have your thyroid checked, this can cause swollowing problems. Losing even 10 lbs. can correct your sleep apnea problem. My Mother in Law had it for her life, after going on Sythroid for her Thyroid, she lost 17 lbs and her sleep apnea totally went away. She was 83 when it finally stopped. The doctor had increased her Sythroid for her Thyroid imbalance. For your stomach, drink a glass of Lemon water (about 3 Tablespoons in a glass) daily. This will correct the acid balance in your stomach. If you have been on any medication for anything it can throw your acid balance out of whack. Lemon juice sounds illogical, we started using it to improve our metabolism and it fixed my 10 year old acid reflux problem. Good Luck, I hope some of my suggestions help out. Medication is good in some cases, but can cause other problems.
3 :
It depends on the type of treatment needed to correct the problem. If you require some oral surgery under GA it may be covered under your health insurance. You will need to discuss this with an oral surgeon who has hospital privileges. They are the most familiar with billing health insurance for dental treatment.

How do you obtain health insurance, for someone who is already in the hospital

How do you obtain health insurance, for someone who is already in the hospital?
Hello, My friend is already in the hospital. He was in a car accident. He does not have insurance, but I am trying to provide some kind of coverage for him. Most health insurance companies will not cover someone who is already in the hospital. And he does not qualify for Medi-Cal. So are there any other options available out there, so that he can get the surgery he needs?
Insurance - 5 Answers
Random Answers, Critics, Comments, Opinions :
1 :
Since the accident has already occurred, unfortunately, your friend propbably won't be covered. The car accident is considered a pre-exisiting condition and health insurance companies will not cover pre-exisitnig conditions if you have not had coverage within the past 63 days. You might want to check with the billing department at the hospital and make payment arrangements.
2 :
If he was in a car accident and the hospitalization is a direct result of the accident, the car insurance should be picking up the tab.
3 :
You go to an agent to get some quotes, but it won't cover THIS accident!! If he was in a car accident, he needs to put a claim in under his auto policy for medical costs, or the auto policy of the person who's car he was riding in. Otherwise, he's going to have to sue the person at fault for the accident, but that can take years.
4 :
I'm with ms- if he won't qualify for Medicaid/Medi-Cal, then he's SOL for regular insurance. Best bet is to throw himself on the mercy of the hospital- most have income guidelines, sliding scale fees and other programs to help cover bills of unisured patients- and many have financial counselors that can work with him to find the best solutions. Check around with the physician too- there will be seperate bills for hospital care and physician services. Often in hardship cases, the physicians may decide not to charge for their portion- but you have to ask. They may also be able to (or there may be a social worker available) who can refer him to low-cost or no-cost healthcare providers in the area for his follow up care. Bottom line- ask everyone, don't be shy- there is bound to be some way to minimize the bills if you're willing to do some research. Best of luck to both of you!

What is the best health insurance for someone who wants good chiropractic coverage

What is the best health insurance for someone who wants good chiropractic coverage?
I am shopping for health insurance for my family (my husband, myself, and our baby). I believe that chiropractic care is an important part of wellness, but I'm having a hard time finding a program that sufficiently covers chiropractic work. Any suggestions? Anyone have an insurance plan that has great chiropractic coverage?

Hi, That really is a hard one to answer. However I would get on my computer and ask that question in the search box.Than see what comes up.Or you can go on line an check all of them out. That would be the best.Onless you have time to make a lot of phone calls. I'll be praying that you find the right one.God bless you,and yours always.
2 :
I can't think of a company directly, and I have come across where many insurance companies don't regard chiropractic care as important enough for real consideration in their plans. It's viewed more as a luxury than a necessity. That part sucks. Have you attempted to use a life insurance broker? Sometimes these folks know where to look as opposed to the rest of us. There's got to be someone. I've listed a couple links, just in case you'd like to have a peek.
3 :
I have Anthem which offers Chiro Care. You will probably need to do your research on this one and if you have a plan you are interested in you will have to make sure it has what the insurance companies call a "rider" on the policy which will ensure that it will cover chiro care if that is what you need
4 :
Common situation you met like many other people,be patient, and check the resource here http://www.HealthInsuranceIdeas.info i found useful.
5 :
I have found that Kaiser Permanante has the best coverage for Chiropractic but if that is not an option for you make sure you check out your copays and how many you get per year with other insurances..
6 :
health-quotes.isgreat.org - here is my health insurance plan. As I remember they can provide such a service.

What is the best health insurance company for the self employed

What is the best health insurance company for the self employed?
Searching this topic in Google only gives tons of applications but no info. I just want to know roughly how much it would cost a year for me to get my own health insurance. Are there big names to look for? I do not want a small insurance company.

Based on your question I would suggest that you need a trusted adviser to help you through the process of purchasing health insurance so that you understand what you are purchasing. Check with the agent that writes your home or auto insurance he/she can provide you a health insurance proposal that takes into account your budget and health status. He or she can answer questions as to what is and is not covered by the policy, explain deductibles and co-pays and show you the hospitals and doctors that participate in the network. Ultimately, you are the one who determines what is the best insurance because you decide what right balance is between affordability and policy benefits. If you choose a plan that covers everything i.e. doctors office visits, prescription drugs, preventative health benefits, maternity coverage, low deductibles, low co-pays as well as vision and dental benefits your monthly premiums will be significant. On the other hand if you are young, healthy and use the health care system sparingly you could consider a plan that covers only the major health catastrophe. If that is too scary consider a plan with a higher in hospital deductible, higher co-pays for doctor's office visits and perhaps not cover prescription drugs.. Either of these approaches will result in a lower monthly premium. You then can use the monthly premium savings to pay for the occasional doctor visit or prescription and still come out ahead. Some are going to suggest you go to their site so that they earn a few pennies on a "click through". Some are going to suggest going on line to get a quote but you probably already know that there is much more to health insurance than price. Some might even suggest a discount plan as the "best and cheapest" approach but that is not insurance at all.

Yes you are right, Google will give you so many websites to look at which can be confusing. Plus there are insurers and brokers bidding on google adwords to get your business. I am a broker - Best Health UK ltd. I can tell you that if you are about 30 years old, you could pay about £30 per month for a plan. But it all depends on what you are looking for? You would pay more if you wanted cover that gave you full out-patient consultations cover. the cheaper plans wont cover you for that initial consultation but only once you are in hospital. The big names of course are Norwich Union, BUPA, Axa PPP, Standard Life but using a broker like Best Health uk will enable you to obtain a free comparison of all of these plus more. Also specialist brokers like us have access to plans that these insurers dont offer direct to the public. At the moment, we can offer 2 months free cover with NOrwich Union. I would be more than happy to speak to you. You can find out about us by visiting www.besthealthinsurance.co.uk. You can also get a rough quote there. Thanks and good luck! Debbie Kleiner-Gaines

First of all there is NO insurance that's specifically for the self-employed. AND, any organization marketing it as such is to be avoided. There are two kinds of insurance. One is group and that's sold to businesses for their employees. Everything else is individual coverage...even that which is sold through organizations. So what you need is individual health insurance, because you're not looking to insure your employees. Now you just need to search for "(your state) health insurance broker" and check the 'about us' section of their site and look for a physical address. You do this so you know you're not putting your information into a lead farm so that your name can get sold over and over. Depending on the state you're in you may find the tool on my site helpful to compare plans. No personal information is required to use it. Cost depends on your age, state, type of plan, etc... A broker costs nothing to use and will be able to show you and sell you most, if not all, of the comprehensive health plans that are available to you. Avoid limited benefit plans because you're cutting your benefit, but you're not necessarily cutting your cost.
