How do I find a good Health Insurance Agent In Texas

How do I find a good Health Insurance Agent In Texas?
Back in California where I am from I had a great Health insurance agent. He took care of everything. My health insuranc, home insurance, life insurance and auto Insurance. I get to Houston Texas and find out that most agents either deal with home and auto or life and health insurance. I now have a freat home and auto insurance agent but he does not deal with health insurance. His reason. He does not have time to keep updated with current trends in health insurance so he does not believe he would be a good health agent. I appreciate his honest but it kinda leaves me hanging. Does anyone have any agents they can recommend?

How do you become a health insurance agent

How do you become a health insurance agent?
My wife is interested in selling health insurance.
What does she need to do in order to do this? Like licensing, buying a franchise, ect... ?

go to college

She can either become a broker or work for an insurance company. Either way, she needs a life agent license. There are classes she can take and then she would take a state exam. The classes are fairly short (no college needed). If she wants to become a broker, she can do so through a company such as NY Life for example. Chances are, she'd be able to work from home.

How come the health insurance industry capitulated to Obama and refused to join the party of "no"

How come the health insurance industry capitulated to Obama and refused to join the party of "no"?
in fighting against a government sponsered health care plan? Funny how a 60 seat Democrat majority in the Senate caused the health insurance industry to spring into action. If they can figure out how to cut 1.5% of their costs now, how come they wouldn't agree to these proposed cuts in, lets say, 2003?

When somebody sets up a fund worth several hundred billion designed to save you, you're not in much of a position of power.
2 :
Gov Perdue is getting rid of BCBS in NC for state employees
3 :
If they don't follow the order from Obama Admin., I will bet they will sure get audited every year for their taxes.
4 :
BECAUSE BUSH WASN'T PUSHING THEM...ASK YOURSELF WHY NOT? I will tell you what I think, Obama has not gone far enough but its a start.
5 :
These health officials can say anything. The proof is in the pudding as they say. I'll eat crow later if I'm wrong and they are actually able to make these cuts.
6 :
Fear. They know their choice is: a) Go along now and hope things improve before they're driven out of business. or b) Get shut-down/taken-over now. The administration has made 100% clear and obvious this is so. that's what fascists do.
7 :
The health industry has been put between a rock and a hard place. If they universally refused to be bought by the (temporarily) free-flowing money being illegally printed or borrowed from China, Russia and Saudi Arabia, they could stand against this fiscal insanity. Once a single company agreed to be prostituted by the Obama administration (I use that term loosely), the others could not compete. Ten years from now, our children will be asking why we allowed these self-serving politicians, led by their messiah, to destroy the economy, causing them and us to live in such poverty.
8 :
Just because he gets in front of a camera with big names from the 'healthcare industry' doesn't mean s**t. All that was just a photo op, and his weekly, 'I'm doing what I said I would', like last week's "Every American should have some education beyond high school." (These aren't exact quotes, but you get my drift) Ok, so how does he plan on paying for all our education upgrades? And even if it is paid for, where are all the extra teachers coming from? Anyway, you raise a good point about the proposed cuts. Sounds to me like another case of strong-arming another industry, just like GM and Chrysler. The gov't probably has some info on the big Pharma and the AMA that they don't want spilled to the public.
9 :
Because these companies know their continued existence depends on the government. If the Obama administration seriously decided to slash health costs, or actually negotiate for Medicare, then billions of dollars in profits would disappear. These companies and org. must act now - or face extinction. One of the dirty little secrets of the health care industry is that doctors, medical supply companies, insurance providers and hospitals all work together to set prices. There is almost no industry pricing standards. If the government were to get involved, a whole lot of people who have gotten rich off the suffering of others would be in real trouble. The determination of the Obama administration to ignore the millions that the health care industry donates to congress, and push for real change is one the biggest improvements in recent decades. Let us hope that their zeal lasts. EDIT: Free to be me. Excuse me? These companies have a golden faucet that shoots out hundred dollar bills in their board room. They make money providing a human service. They keep people alive for profit. Any serious investigation into the pricing practices of the health care industry or the pharmaceutical industry is enough to make a normal person boil over in anger. Acting as if sensible government reform is restricting freedom is nonsensical.
10 :
By cooperating, the health insurance industry has some input into what will result, and they also have an ear into what is happening.

I have Aetna health insurance through my employer. Are my insurance premiums that I pay tax deductible

I have Aetna health insurance through my employer. Are my insurance premiums that I pay tax deductible?
IRS' website is vague. I can't figure out if I can really deduct the premiums that I pay for my health insurance. I'm not self employed.
Yes, my health insurance premium is paid pre-tax in my paychecks.

Health premiums are considered medical expenses. You can deduct them only if you itemize and then, you can only deduct the amount of medical expenses that constitute more than 7% of your AGI.
2 :
In most cases, health insurance through an employer is paid using pre-tax dollars. You generally cannot deduct these premiums since tax was never paid on the money to begin with.
3 :
No. You already received the tax benefit as they were taken out of your check pretax.
4 :
Pre-tax means that you were never taxed on the premiums. It is a tax-free benefit of your employer. Your premiums are not deductible. Only after-tax payments of medical expenses are deductible.
5 :
Are the amount of premiums included in the box 1 of your W-2 form as taxable income for the year? If the premiums amounts are not included in your taxable income then the employer is paying your medical insurance premiums for you and you can not deduct them using the schedule A itemized deduction of your 1040 income tax return. Hope that you find the above enclosed information useful and good luck to you.
6 :
what you pay for can be included in your medical deductions when you itemize of course, the medical expenses are limited to the excess of 7.5% of your AGI
7 :
No, not in the way that you mean. If it is pretax, then your employer deducts it for you when calculating how much income to show on your W-2. You do not get to deduct it again.
8 :
Since they're paid pre-tax, no they aren't deductible - you already got the "deduction" up front. If they weren't pre-tax, they might be deductible, but probably not. Would be only if you itemize, and only for the portion of your medical expenses that were over 7.5% of your AGI for the year.

To Be honest,It will take a little time to find the answer for the question of yours.have a look at the resource here http://www.HealthInsuranceIdeas.info/free-online-health-insurance.htm for your reference .
2 :
Most doctors in clinics or urgent care centers charge around $80-$100 for an office visit. That's in addition to any treatments they prescribe. You should first check if there's a Walgreen's or CVS with a retail clinic in your area. They are cheaper than a regular doctor's office and can handle simple problems like sore throats.

How long does it take to get health insurance approval? What are some cheap health insurances for in the USA

How long does it take to get health insurance approval? What are some cheap health insurances for in the USA?
I'm looking for health insurance that I can get that's cheap (I don't really care about quality, I just need the insurance within a few weeks).
What are some cheap options and how long does it take to get approval? Also, less importantly, what are the steps to get insurance?

It depends on where you live and it can take 48 hours in some cases. Find an insurance broker that does business where you live.
2 :
Legitimate government website that will give you info on both private and new government options available. http://www.healthcare.gov/
3 :
The first step is to contact a local agent that works with all of the major companies in your area. If you just need insurance for a few weeks you can get a short term medical policy. These policies are relatively inexpensive and you can be covered as soon as tomorrow.
4 :
All health insurance in the U.S. is expensive. The first step to getting cheap health insurance is to leave the U.S. and move to a country with cheap health insurance. Sorry. Seriously, although there are many different cheap options in different parts of the U.S., none of them are available to everyone everywhere in the U.S. If you simply picked the best cheap option from anywhere in the U.S., then you would have to move to whatever part of the U.S. has that option. If you are not willing to move, then the first step would be to determine where in the U.S. you are, and then look for an option which is cheap in that part of the U.S. Post this question again with the name of your state and your approximate age. With those two pieces of information, we can give you some suggestions for options that might be available to you. Without knowing where you live, any suggestion would probably be unavailable wherever you are.

How can i find a good health insurance company?
I have health insurance right now and i just got a HUGE bill in the mail for what the health insurance did not cover. HELP are all insurance companies out to screw you!? I am sooo frustrated! I am a young person barely making ends meet

not too sure who you have but it not really the insurance company it is what you pay for. I use to work for Blue Cross and I know everything about insurance.
2 :
I can certainly understand your frustration. Most health insurance plans are very expensive. However, one way to find a good health insurance company at the most affordable premiums to you is to compare free quotes and plans online from a heath insurance quote provider service. That way you can compare coverage and cost in the convenience of your own home without any sales pressure from an agent. Then, you can contact the agent and request the coverage you want. One leading provider of insurance quotes online since 1993 is InsureMe. You just fill out a form and get up to five free, no obligation quotes for health insurance from leading insurers in your area. You can request free quotes here - http://www.insureme.com/landing.aspx?Refby=613598&Type=health Make sure to consider quotes at different deductibles to lower your cost, and consider quarterly or semi-annual premium payments if you can afford it, that may be less expensive than monthly premiums. Best of luck to you! I hope that helps.

How can I get group health insurance for a large group of independent contractors

How can I get group health insurance for a large group of independent contractors?
I'm involved with a company that has over 50,000 independent contractors.
What are my options to seek out a group health insurance plan at great savings for the independent contractors? Jody

The normal rule of thumb is the larger the group the better the rate. I would check with your local insurance companies and see if they can give you a good price. Also, if you are a member of your local Better Business Bureau or Chamber of Commerce, you may be eligible for discounts. Good luck!!!
2 :
There are many sites that may offer you quotes for health insurance plans online. I recommend you check out eHealthinsurance. They are made up of a network of hundreds of health insurance providers across America. They offer medical plans from over 140 leading health insurers nationwide. They have more than 900,000 clients in the U.S. Health insurance premiums are filed with and regulated by your state's Department of Insurance. Whether you buy from eHealthInsurance, your local agent, or directly from the health insurance company, you'll pay the same monthly premium for the same plan. This means that you can enjoy the advantages and convenience of shopping and purchasing your health insurance plan through eHealthInsurance and rest assured that you're getting the best available price. eHealthInsurance offers plans for individuals, families and businesses. You input the information to get quotes and they can hold it in their system for you. To request free, no obligation quotes go to http://www.tkqlhce.com/it118qgpmgo3565874A3548687DA I hope that helps! Take care and best of luck!

I would suggest looking into association plans from carriers, I am not sure if anyone does it any longer. Your problem is that your group is not considered a group to traditional corporations. (Independent Contractors- are not considered a employer/ employee relationship) which must take place to have a "true group". And also your second hurdle will be the number, 50,000 is a very large group- so rates will not be guaranteed- they will be loaded rates, because of possible huge claims involved, and no prior claim experience.
4 :
i am in agreeance with the above answer: in order to have group health plan a employer/employee relationship must exists. Instead you can link with an independent agent and then refer theses contractors to the agent if they want individual coverage.
5 :
Need to check a lot first
