How will the health insurance act reduce costs, and do the dc insiders really think they know

How will the health insurance act reduce costs, and do the dc insiders really think they know?
more about running a business than the business people do? Hence the charging off of billions to stem the coming hard hit to the bottom line? Do you think your own health insurance plan will be impacted?

it won't lower cost, they knew that all along, just a great big lie to take more control over every ones lives

<< more about running a business than the business people do? >> Considering we just gave almost a trillion dollars to bail out these business people, I think my 2 year old son may know more than they do.
3 :
They know how to gain control over peoples lives. They do not care about the cost. Once you are under their thumb they will just cut you off from need services. Cost problem solved OH Yes and you, and everyone else we just take a pill and die in a hospice Like BO would have had for his grandmother!
4 :
It won't reduce costs. When does the government (corporate America) reduce costs for their products? Additionally, the DC insiders are also Corporate America. So it is a real "cluster".
5 :
Companies reduce costs when it makes them more money. The only way this happens is when they compete and their competitor reduces costs and takes their business away. Since the health reform doesn't do anything to increase competititon, and leaves the status quo of regional monopolies, their is no reason to believe costs will be lowered. Even if their is room to lower costs it won't happen, the incentive does not exist, especially when they have shareholders demanding more in profits. Regardless of what economic sector we're talking about, costs don't come down unless it means they'll make more profits.
6 :
By requiring everyone to get health care coverage, medical treatments won't go unpaid for as much anymore. This will reduce the rate at which health care facilities increase their prices in order to make up the lost revenue, which in turn will reduce the rate at which health insurance premiums grow as well. I don't believe health care reform will actually reduce costs, but it should keep them from growing quite as quickly as they have been. If business people really knew that much about running their businesses, the economy wouldn't collapse from time to time like it does. My own health insurance will likely see little impact since it is provided by my employer.

(College-educated man to the rescue!) ROFL... anyway.. I'll clue you in... insurance companies have this idea called "pool size", which is, the total number of people that are insured under any given policy.. the government is going to essentially create the biggest pool possible, which will reduce premiums for everyone in the respective insurance pools.. this is because the companies are receiving more in premiums, and most people don't receive more care than they pay out... as a result, everyone's premiums go down, because the cost of doing business and maintaining a profit becomes less for an insurance company. Hope that helps, although I doubt you'll be satisfied, being the suspicious conservative type :)
8 :
just this morning, cost increases were estimated to add about 1% to business cost. so, no money saved there. this to cover the expected cost of kids staying on mommy and daddy's insurance until age 26. what losers.
9 :
obamacare won't reduce anything!! it is a program to bankrupt all health insurances and put them out of business!! then where will you get heath insurance from??? or be fined if you don't have it??? for the real truth about obamacare please read=micheal connelly/obamacare...

The Health Care Law will not reduce costs, nor slow the rise of the increase of costs. After all that work, they failed in one of their primary goals when they started, and that was to slow the rise of the increase of costs for health services. I was recently talking with Sen. Jeff Bingaman (one of the six writers of the Health Care Law) about the Law that was passed, and he admitted that this was a weak point in the law. Yes, it forces everyone to get health care and thus expand coverage, and yes, it will force everyone into a government option, but the costs for health insurance and the costs of health services altogether will go up. The worst part is, the cost of living and the new costs to individual Americans are going to go up BIG time. From now on, every American is going to be having a harder time trying to make ends meet because of these new costs. The tax credits reimburse Americans for the expense, but you have to initially have the money to pay for health insurance out of pocket. And if you can't afford to pay out of pocket for health insurance, either for the government plan or your own plan, you will be penalized come April 15.

What is a good health insurance for children with special needs

What is a good health insurance for children with special needs?
My son is on a feeding tube due to a small bowel transplant he received last year. My husband and I are returning to a full work schedule and our health insurance (Tricare) does not cover a nurse for him, or special daycare because his only special need is the feeding tube and the medication he receives through it. Apparently that's not enough. So is there a good company that I can purchase insurance through who will cover these types of things for him?

I'm sorry to hear about your son being in this condition. There is not a company that will insure him to cover the medical problems that he has, that I know of. There are some which say they are guaranteed issue, and cover pre-existing conditions, but they are not Major Medical coverages, which you need. Check out this site, if you want to find the cheapest health insurance just in one minute, http://cheap-health-insurance-usa.blogspot.com/ Here you can get free quotes from different health insurance companies in your area, its the best way to find an afforable health insurance with a reliable company. There are no insurance companies that will cover preexisting conditions and stay in business. The math does not work. However, you can get MySimpleCard.com membership and get the medical services you need at a lower rate, as much as 50% off. Hope that helps.

Apparently KATTY is employed by “MySimpleCard.com or an insurer as it is her “standard answer. Her answer of "good luck" is just how the giant insurers that deny coverage of pre-existing conditions view your situation as well as others that simply don't have the $$ for private insurance coverage. With the government option, these insurers will be scrambling for your business to stay alive and may lay-off KATTY, to save money and boost their profits, thereby putting her in the same situation that we are. Her assumption that everybody makes enough $$ in their job to even have any savings to afford any kind of insurance is very elitist and absurd. She suggests that everyone read 1984 by George Orwell, which was mandatory in my education. What she doesn't realize is that we are already there, with cameras on every street corner, the ability of the govt. to track cell phones, HDTV that can be shut down or used by the govt at their whim to disable dissemination of knowledge. She doesn't recognize these things, but she denies you should have the same benefits of insurance coverage that Congress and the President has, at the taxpayers expenses, by invoking the premise of 1984 and possibly for fear of losing her job. KATTY, if you REALLY believe 1984 hasn't arrived yet, I suggest that you go back and re-read it because you have definitely forgotten the premise of it and choose only now to invoke it instead of when the govt was taking away your freedoms many years ago. Wake up KATTY and realize that there are MILLIONS that may not be as fortunate as you... "But for the sake of God, there go I".

There are some which say they are guaranteed issue, and cover pre-existing conditions, but they are not Major Medical coverages, which you need. You may google "Guaranteed Issue health Insurance" and take a look. Contact the State Department of Health and Human Services. I'm sure you could get a medical card for him. Best wishes, and God bless.

I would think Medicaid would cover these things.
3 :
OK, the first thing - the best insurance for special needs children, or rather, the ONLY insurance you can get outside of your employer, would be Medicaid, through your state children's health insurance program. If you're stationed outside of the USA, I have no idea if/how it would work. BUT, it's highly unlikely that a health insurance company is going to pay "long term care" type costs - which would include special needs daycare (heck, it doesn't pay ANY daycare!) or private nursing. I think you should try having one of you stay at home with the child.

A lot depends on your personal situation and what state you live in. Generally though you will want to stick with a large and trustworthy company like a United Healthcare, Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, etc. Shop around and compare quotes from at least 3 companies to find the best rate. Here is some more info on some thing you should know when looking for self employed health insurance. Google "Assurant Health", "Golden Rule Insurance", or "United Healthcare". If these companies are licensed to do business in your state, there will be localindependent agents in your area.
2 :
It depends on what state you live in...the competitive companies are different in every state and there is no "best."
3 :
Blue Cross Blue Shield
4 :
"Good" usually means, broad coverage, low deductible. "Affordable" usually means, limited coverage and/or high deductible. You're going to have to talk to a local, independent agent, to balance out coverage and pricing.
5 :
Try this one - http://healthplans.bebto.com - my family have their health insurance - it is affordable and has good coverage for dental issues.
6 :
Good health insurance is quite necessary for all. I too was assuming for some insurance company for good and affordable health insurance plan and got one in my locality - http://www.rghins.com/

What health insurance company is best for a child

What health insurance company is best for a child?
I am looking for a good and reasonably priced health insurance provider for my 9 year old son. Insurance through my work is outrageous so I'm looking for an outside provider.
His mother is suppose to have already put him on CHIP with the state of TX (by court order) but she refuses to do so for some reason. I hate the idea of him being without health insurance. Anyone had any good experiences with certain companies? Any suggestions or feedback would be greatly appreciated.

you can go thru the human services people and they can help you get set up on insurance and if not they can help you as to where to go
2 :
In terms of good, reasonably priced health insurance for lower income families, SCHIPS is hard to beat. Your wife (ex-wife?) may be resistant because SCHIPS is cheap, but not free. If she is aware of your ability to provide health insurance through your employer, this may be a cause of resistance (especially if, at the end of the day, you have the means to pay for your son's policy). Unfortunately, you will find that in order to purchase personal insurance for your son, you will need to be covered under the policy as well. So as "outrageous" as you think the policy is from your employer, it will likely be cheaper (and will DEFINITELY be better coverage) than dropping your employer's plan for yourself in order to cover both you and your son. So, you may have two options on the table if you want your son covered. Go to bat and attempt to enforce the court order on your wife, which will not endear you to her one bit...or man up and pay for coverage for your son through your employer. Not the answer you may wish to hear, but there you are. Best wishes.

This website has medical care for as low as $29.95 a month per household take a look www.mybenefitsplus.com/40677492

State health plans are often among the best coverage, least expensive plans around for kids. However, if that's not an option (as you've indicated), then check into an individual plan for your son. As you found out, putting him on your plan at work will probably give him pretty good benefits, but group plans usually assume that, on average, there will be 2.2 kids/employee; therefore, someone with 1 or 2 pays more while someone with 3 or more pays less (hey, that's how insurance works: it "averages" things out across a lot of people). However, by buying an individual plan for him you'll only pay for "his" coverage. Further, you'll be better able to get a less expensive plan that might be better suited to his actual needs. Here's a few tips: 1. Try to figure out "how much" health care he generally uses. Don't buy a really dynamite plan with a lot of bells & whistles if he's unlikely to use most of them. Remember, the point of "insurance" is to handle expensive items; coverage for the more "routine" stuff is really just "health care financing." 2. Even if you buy a plan with a higher deductible (like $2,500 - 5,000), you'll still probably get those things people use mainly, like doctor and generic drug copays, etc. 3. Find a broker near you who specializes in health insurance specifically. Visit NAHU.org (see below), which is the professional association of brokers (like me) who specialize in individual & employer health insurance. 4. Alternatively (and if you're fairly confident of your expertise in this area) you can run your own quotes for him by visiting my site (below) or Norvax.com, an online quoting site. Hope this helps a bit!
