Will the health insurance industry lose jobs once healthcare reform is passed

Will the health insurance industry lose jobs once healthcare reform is passed?
I work for a major company in the health Insurance field. I am worried that once reform is passed my jobs will be in jeopardy. Would it make sense to reform health care only to drive more people out of work?

It will never get implemented even if it passes. It is not set to start until 2013 and real Americans will not allow such a sham to operate.

Probably not right away, but your customers' premiums will have to go up to pay to keep the company going if they lose people to the government health insurance. Your company might close down if it's losing too much, though.

Logic. There will be 30,000,000, (I would count half that) people getting health insurance because of the mandate. Plus there is no public option.

It will create jobs. :) If you can sell health insurance across state lines that mean the small businesses will pop up creating more jobs because they will be able to compete with the large health insurers. Though heavy regulation of the product to keep the playing field level. Not only that because there will be more people able to receive treatment more hospitals will be build creating even more jobs.

Progress always has a price that must be paid. Sorry about that. There will always be a need for supplementary insurance. See the link I have provided.

Your concern is validated. Yes you will be in jeopardy, but hey free health care(sarcasm).I would look into other fields, because if the bill passes, these will probably be your options: 1.Leave the field immediately 2. lose your job immediately 3. you may get hired at a lower rate and be a government worker 4. if that happens, you may be forced to be a union member

None of the health care legislation that has been put forth by the Democrats makes sense. Any bill that is 2700 pages long is a load of pork, special interest payoffs, and a budget buster. You can also count on the loss of jobs in the medical field and in the insurance industry. There will be fewer health care workers and fewer insurance companies. If this bag of horse manure passes, we are all in deep doo doo and all the Obamabots will be the first to feel the pain of it.
