The best on-line tool I have found is Ehealthinsurance.com. However, if you call them, they load you up with everything and tend to oversell. I suggest buying from a local agent who specializes in health. Actually, these days buying from an on-line company can be mistake, since you need someone local and referral based to coach you through the process of picking a plan and underwriting. Don't even think about filling out a form on-line for "information" unless you want 5 agents calling to bug you within the next 5 minutes and for years after (I know). Try going to www.nahu.org to find a local specialist who is involved professionally in their business. They are a non-profit association for health agents. Measure their quality by how well they listen to what you want, need and will qualify for. A good agent can then get it down to 1 or 2 recommendations for your area.

Locate the local Blue Cross Blue Shield in your state online. Their website will have pricing, and the ability to apply online. Most likely it will be less expensive to have both of you on the policy as opposed to insuring just the baby.

You have to do some research, and do comparison shopping before choosing a health insurance company. Here's what I'd do: 1) Visit this site: http://www.kirtokreviews.com/health-insurance-quotes/ (Free site) and try to get as many health insurance quotes as possible first. 2) Make an excel list (advantages, disadvantages, coverages, etc.). And start calling the companies. 3) Never hesitate to bargain on the phone. They will sure be happy to get your business, always ask for current specials, discounts, etc. And finally choose the best one fits to your needs and budget. Good Luck with finding the right health insurance.

Contact an insurance broker. A broker works with several companies, and can find the best policy and terms for you. To find a broker, log on to a website like http://www.healthinsurancewiz.com and fill out a form requesting a free quote.
