Blue Cross charges my health insurance premium to my credit card each month automatically. I do not sign a separate credit card authorization each month and I do not get a receipt.
Will the credit card statements be enough for tax purposes, or do I need to request an actual receipt from the insurance company?

Yes. You wouldn't need to show proof unless you were examined or audited, and the credit card statements would suffice as proof of payment.
